Officials are seen with winners in the Futures Riders Competition at QEF's Indoor Arena yesterday.
Doha: Mohammed Saeed Haidan yesterday produced a flawless routine with Carport to claim the Big Tour victory in the first round of the Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour Hathab series. Haidan looked in total control astride his 14-year-old gelding as he raced to win in the 130/145cm competition at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s (QEF) Indoor Arena for the season’s first show jumping round of the hugely popular series now into its fourth season.
Haidan won the two-phased competition in a time of 42.98 seconds as the Qatari rider won the top prize of QR12,375. Seasoned rider Hamad Ali Al Attiyah, astride Aslan 69, sealed the second spot in a time of 34.58 seconds (4 faults).
A Attiyah won QR10,125 for his efforts. The third spot went to Nasser Al Ghazali (Quel Homme, 34.78 seconds, 4 faults).
Al Ghazali won QR6,750. The top five was wrapped up by Saeed Nasser Al Qadi (Andreas SPB Z, 35.31 seconds, 4 faults, QR4,500) and Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi (Casal Des Forets, 36.70 seconds, 4 faults, QR3,150).

Ali Al Rumaihi, the Event Director and Organizing Committee Member of the Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour Hathab, gave away the prizes to the top three riders.
Earlier in the day at QEF's Indoor Arena, Saeed Al Qadi clinched the Open Class with Best Of Des Forets to win the top prize of QR6,250. Best Of Des Forets clocked a time of 53.85 seconds as the Qatari rider stamped his authority in the 115/125cm.
The second spot was secured by Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi who also produced a flawless routine with Bleu Boy. Al Emadi won QR5,000 as Blue Boy clocked 54.52 seconds.
The third place was sealed by Cyrine Cherif (Brennus Villelongue) in a time of 54.61 seconds. Cherif won QR3,750 in the round against the clock after finishing in the third spot.
The top five was completed by Nasser Al Ghazali (What A Pleasure, 54.65 seconds, QR2,500) and Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi (Happy Tina, 55.05 seconds, QR1,750). Bader Al Darwish, Organizing Committee Member of Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour Hathab, gave away the prizes at the Open Class awards ceremony
