Barcelona: World champion Lewis Hamilton on Saturday topped the final practice session for the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix, while Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas recovered from a spin into the gravel to place third.

Championship leader Bottas, who had dominated both of Friday's sessions, spun at turn five on the Circuit de Catalunya, and got beached in the gravel.

Bottas tops the standings with 87 points, one point clear of Hamilton but a massive 35 clear of Vettel in third, with the talented Leclerc another five points back in fifth.

Qualifying is set for later Saturday and the race is Sunday. (QNA)
