The Cabinet, in its ordinary meeting yesterday, ordered to take necessary measures to issue a draft law on economic zones, after the Council of Ministers reviewed the recommendation of the Advisory Council on the draft law.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the Cabinet meeting held at the Emiri Diwan premises.
Under the provisions of the draft law, the Council of Ministers, upon the proposal of the Board of Directors of Economic Zones Company, is authorised to establish one or more economic zones, with a view to setting up projects and encouraging and attracting investment. All types of companies, partnership contracts or any other legal entities, whether owned by one or more natural or legal persons, may be founded or established in the zone by citizens or others.
