Ooredoo recently hosted an exclusive business event in collaboration with the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) Middle East and Averroes Business Advisory & Services.

The event, which was held under the theme of “Qatar’s Pursue for Excellence”, aimed to promote excellence in Qatar in relation to Qatar’s National Vision 2030, leverage the excellence experience, allow genuine exchanges with excellent organisations, and establish an excellence platform in Qatar.

Specific attention was swayed towards the EFQM Excellence Model, a framework that encourages the collaboration, cooperation, and innovation that organisations need to face and deal with new challenges.
The event was held on November 23 at the Mِvenpick Hotel West Bay in concurrence with the World Quality Month.

Over 60 professionals attended the event from Qatar; including from the government sector and private sector, and attendees also travelled from outside of Qatar.

Several speakers from around the world presented their insight about excellence models and their real-time application on an organisational and national levels. The speakers also presented international and local case studies, and shed light on how excellence programmes can help attendees ensure better organisations in Qatar.

Talking about the event, Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi, COO Ooredoo Qatar, said: ‘We’re delighted to have worked with the European Foundation of Quality Management, to bring this important issue and topic to Qatar’s organisations. Through feedback, we found attendees were impressed with the programme and discussions that took place, and we hope this leads to a further push for operational excellence in Qatar. This event is just another investment we have made in our continuous efforts to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030.”

A panel discussion during the event centred on “how excellence programmes and models can support the achievement of the Qatar National Vision 2030” and both Asghal and Ooredoo shared their contributions.
Gianluca Mule from EFQM also encouraged Qatar to establish a national excellence awards as a way to promote excellence in as many organisations as possible across different sectors.
