Qatar players celebrate their goal during the West Asian U-23 Championship match against Oman in Jeddah, yesterday.
Hassan Al Makki scored an early goal as Qatar won 1-0 to reach the semi-finals of the event. Qatar, who played a draw against Lebanon, topped their group with four points while Oman also advanced to the semis after finishing second in the group.
Qatar will meet the runners-up of the other group which includes Bahrain, Syria and Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals on Saturday.
