Doha: Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) participated in the fourth edition of the International Forum for Sports Integrity, organised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) yesterday via video communication technology.

QOC was represented at the forum by Sheikh Ahmed bin Noah Al Thani, Director of the QOC’s Legal Affairs Department.

The forum featured the participation of more than 500 high-level sports personalities representing all institutions of the Olympic Movement, governments, international organisations and international experts.

It shed light on mechanisms of combating corruption in the sports field by activating the role of the Foundation for International Partnership against Corruption in Sport (IPACS), which was established during the second edition of the Forum in 2017.

The Forum is one of the most important platforms for exchanging ideas between sports institutions and other international institutions, including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) and representatives of various governments to protect sports from corruption.

The meeting also recognised the accomplishments of the Forum through the Olympic Movement Unit on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions and the future steps to combat various forms of corruption in sports.
