DOHA: Qatar Post Services Company (Qatar Post) has signed a cooperation agreement with Elite Paper Recycling Company (EPRC) to supply 120 containers for the Elite Company in addition to the Customs Clearance Service at Hamad Port.
The agreement was signed at the Qatar Post General Office in the presence of Faleh bin Mohammed Al Naeimi, Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Post, and Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Elite Paper Recycling Company, with the executive leaders of both companies.
On the occasion Al Naeimi said that this agreement comes within the framework of Qatar Post’s directives to cooperate with national companies and meet their postal and logistics services especially in the field of heavy cargo.
Al Naeimi added: “The choice of local companies for our services demonstrates the growing confidence of Qatar Post in light of the competition in the market, and this situation is very beneficial for companies, especially after the country prepared the appropriate ground for the logistics sector with investments of around $8bn.”
On his part Al Suwaidi, Chairman of EPRC, stressed the importance of cooperation with Qatar Post in the fields of container supply and customs clearance.
“We are a company specialised in the paper industry, which exports 80 percent of its products to the regional and Asian markets, we are concerned with the existence of a local logistic partner capable of providing us with the best services in heavy freight and customs clearance to their vast network locally and internationally.”
Elite Company was established in 2014 and is distinguished through its 100-truck team and more than 1,400 containers distributed throughout the country, recycling paper and cardboard waste in Qatar and producing high-quality cartons with a production capacity of 3,500 tonnes per month.
About 20 percent of this production covers the domestic market, while 80 percent is exported to several countries, including Kuwait, Oman, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and China.
Mohammed Al Suwaidi, General Manager of the company, said that the Elite Company collects paper and cardboard waste free of charge, and recycle the documents of banks and ministries while ensuring their confidentiality.
He pointed out that the company allocates 40 percent of its budget to raise awareness of recycling culture by organising workshops, participating in expos and opportunity for institutions to visit its factory.
