Doha: The Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) participated in the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2021) in St. Petersburg, Russia, as part of the delegation from Qatar which was the guest country of the forum. The prestigious event which concluded recently, featured high-profile economic events, high-level officials and representatives of major companies and institutions. 

The QBWA delegation, which included Board Members Awatef Al Dafaa, Natra Abdullah, Amal Al Atham and Executive Director Jiskala Khalayli, attended the opening of the Qatar Pavilion at the Forum, which was inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation H E Yury Borisov and representatives of major companies and institutions from Russia and Qatar. 

In addition to the forum, the delegation attended a number of meetings with a group of Russian companies working in various fields and signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the Interregional Association of Women’s Business in St. Petersburg, which was chaired by Olga Khodakovskaya, and with the All Russian Public Organization of Businesswomen, which was chaired by Tatiana Gvilava, Chairman of the Russian-Arab Business Council, to activate cooperation between businesswomen of the two countries and create new business opportunities.

The delegation also inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to Qatar held by Imperial Porcelain, one of the oldest top manufacturers of Porcelain, which showcased a wide range of their porcelain pieces in the most important museums in Russia and the world.
