Maryam Ahmed Alsemaitt and Azade Apa Triolet clinched top honours in the dressage competitions on the opening day of the 10th round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour at Al Shaqab, yesterday.
Alsemaitt rode San Francisco to clinch the top spot in the Medium (Level 1) category at the Longines Indoor Arena yesterday as she bagged the biggest individual prize cheque of the day, worth QR4,950.
Alsemaitt and the 14-year-old stallion secured 68.646 points.
Jessica Waldon (Givenchy Utopia, 66.250 points) came second while young rider Maryam Ahmad Al Boinin (Silvan, 66.146 points) rounded up the podium. Meanwhile, the Istanbul-based lawyer Triolet, astride 13-year-old bay mare What A Pleasure, scored 69.457 points to win the Preliminary Level 2 class ahead of Jassim Mohammed Al Fahd Al Kuwari (Special Edition 19, 69.348 points) and Khalid Sanad Al Nuaimi (Medea VD Donkhoeve, 69.022 points) who finished second and third respectively.
