DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 67.34 points, or 0.64 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,444.36 points.
Trading value during last week increased by 2.82 percent to reach QR1.18bn compared to QR1.15bn.
Trading volume increased by 41.41 percent to reach 403.43 million shares, as against 285.29 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 79.06 percent, to reach 30,104 transactions as compared to 16,812 transactions.
Market cap fell by 0.67 percent to reach QR581.41bn as compared to QR585.36bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 51.09 percent of the total traded value. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 14.55 percent. Industries sector accounted for 13.07 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 8.02 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 30.88 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.55 percent. Industries sector accounted 18.70 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 17.24 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 33.26 percent of the total number of transactions. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 24.39 percent. Industries sector accounted for 16.58 percent and Telecom sector accounted 9.07 percent.
From the 47 listed companies 11 ended last week higher, while 31 fell and five remained unchanged.
QNB led traded value during last week accounted for 20.56 percent of the total traded value. Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 11.32 percent and Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) accounted 6.90 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 107.04 points, or 1.04 percent yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
The volume of shares traded yesterday increased to 87.18 million from 67.90 million on Wednesday and the value of shares also increased to QR1.65bn from QR212.94m on Wednesday.
Indices of seven sectors ended in green zone today. QSE Total Return Index increased 1.04 percent to 19,218.51 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 1.16 percent to 3,915.89 points. QSE All Share Index added 1.05 percent to 3,101.20 points.
