Doha: The second edition of ‘Build Your House 2021’ exhibition which will be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre from March 22 to 24, 2021, under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, has been attracting wide participation from the local and international market players, leading events organising company NeXTfairs has announced.

It said the upcoming event has succeeded in attracting wide participation from the government and private sectors as well as other international companies, as it represents a unique commercial platform for local and international companies that allows consultants, contractors and suppliers to offer their services and products to the target audience, and sign deals which exceeded QR400m during the first edition.

More than 120 local and international companies participated in the first edition of the exhibition, while the number of visitors exceeded 10,000 visitors. NeXTfairs, along with supporters from the public and private sectors, seeks to make the edition of ‘Build Your House 2021’ successful and revitalise the construction and housing sector, while life is getting back to normal after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rawad Sleem, General Manager of NeXTfairs, said: “We express our gratitude to the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani for his sponsorship of of the exhibition for the second year, which indicates the importance of the event which has become a platform in which representatives of relevant government agencies meet with citizens and agents in the housing and construction sector.

Our entire team would like to extend thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Ministry of Municipality & Environment, General Administration of Civil Defence, Public Works Authority (Ashghal), and Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), for their continuous support and participation in the previous edition of the exhibition Build your House 2020”.

He added: “NeXTfairs is honoured to announce the list of sponsors of “BYH 2021”, which includes Tadmur Trading as the Founding Partner, Al Jaber Group as the platinum sponsor, Al Hattab Holding as the golden sponsor, while the two silver sponsors are Al Tabaaion Trading & Contracting and Kayan Consulting Engineering, with our supporting partner the Qatar Society of Engineers”.

Sleem stressed that the exhibition will apply all precautionary measures to protect against Coronavirus to preserve the safety and health of companies, participating entities and visitors and to ensure the best safe experience. She reiterated that the exhibition is the first of its kind in the local market which targets Qatari citizens, who are looking for building their own houses; and to help them obtain ideas and information about building their new houses or renovating their existing ones. The exhibition has also become an important platform that connects visitors with contractors and consultants to enable them to determine their options and make decisions related to the construction process.

Speaking about the local property market, Sleem said that developing citizens’ lands and qualifying their housing vouchers is moving forward at an accelerating pace. He highlighted the QR12bn development scheme by the Qatari government for the development of new lands for citizens by providing networks of water, electricity, sanitation, roads and all other facilities in 13 different areas of the country.

“The Housing Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor & Social Affairs works tirelessly with  the Qatar Development Bank to provide all the services and facilities to buy or build housing through soft loans, in addition to community service. These measures have provided many advantages, the most important of which is revitalising the residential sector, which explains the success of the first edition of “BYH 2020” exhibition,” he added.

Sleem also expects an increase in the pace of foreign investment inflows into the residential real estate market following the announcement of the law regulating the ownership and use of real estate by non-Qataris.
