The combined net profits of 46 companies listed on Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) stood at QR19.6bn for the first half of this year (H1, 2019), down 6.2 percent compared to QR20.9bn during the same period last year.
Financial statements of Qatar’s publicly traded companies are posted on the QSE website, reports QNA.
Meanwhile, QSE benchmark index dropped 562.84 points, or 5.41 percent last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,834.79 points. Trading value last week increased by 24.90 percent to reach QR1.08bn compared to QR867.86m.
Trading volume decreased by 5.35 percent to reach 324.06 million shares, as against 342.37 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 23.52 percent to reach 25,234 transactions. Market cap fell by 5.39 percent to reach QR542.24bn as compared to QR573.15bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and financial services sector led traded value last week with 53.92 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 20.27 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 7.65 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 7.14 percent.
The Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 32.55 percent of the total traded volume. Industries sector accounted for 26.39 percent. Real Estate sector accounted 22.26 percent and Telecom sector accounted 5.22 percent.
Industries sector led traded number of transactions last week with 35.55 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 29.51 percent. Real Estate sector accounted 10.66 percent and Telecom sector accounted 8.44 percent.
Of the 46 companies listed, 10 ended higher last week, while 35 fell and one remained unchanged. QNB led trading value during last week accounted for 28.72 percent of the total trading value. Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 7.53 percent and Industries Qatar accounted 7.26 percent.
When compared on daily basis the QSE index dropped 63.31 points, or 0.64 percent when the bourse closed trading at 9,834.79 points yesterday.
The volume of shares traded increased to 61.84 million from 53.04 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR195.30m from QR198.08m on Wednesday.
Indices of three sectors ended in green zone and four sectors ended in red zone yesterday. QSE Total Return Index lost 0.64 percent to 18,096.84 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index decreased 0.06 percent to 3,831.54 points. QSE All Share Index dropped 0.52 percent to 2,905.52 points.
