The Office of Education Training and Development (OETD) of Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QFR&D) has announced a new educational initiative to encourage students to pursue a career in science.
The three-week “High School Science Camp” is a fully sponsored programme at the University of California Irvine (UCI), a major research university in the US. Designed for Qatari high school students in grades 10 and 11, the Science Camp will provide an introduction to careers in science and hands-on experience in a research lab. While in the United States, students will learn about career opportunities in science and technology, and academic programmes for research and study abroad.
“This is an exciting opportunity to promote careers in science and research for Qatar’s future generation by exploring what’s available at a major university in the US,” said Dr Wyatt Hume, Executive Director Office of Education Training and Development.
