DOHA: H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, has met with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Enterprise Florida Inc., on the sidelines of the economic tour of Qatar in the US.
During the meeting, they discussed the prospects of joint cooperation in many fields and highlighted the investment incentives provided by the Qatari economy and the initiatives launched by the State to support the private sector and attract foreign investments.
For his part, the CEO of Enterprise Florida presented the investment opportunities in the state of Florida, and ways to establish investment partnerships in many fields. He also expressed his desire to organize a visit by a delegation of businessmen from the state of Florida to the State of Qatar to learn about the investment opportunities there, and also to promote products and services offered by companies in Florida.
Enterprise Florida is public-private partnership between Florida’s business and government leaders and is the principal economic development organisation for the state of Florida.
The Minister also met with a number of US businessmen. The meeting discussed prospects of joint cooperation in many fields and highlighted the investment opportunities available in the State of Qatar, especially in the field of non-hydrocarbon industries, in addition to opportunities for economic partnership between the private sector in the two friendly countries in all fields, especially after the establishment of free zones and modern economic zones.
Qatari economic tour of the United States started Monday in Miami, Florida and will also include a number of US cities, namely Washington DC, Charleston, South Carolina and Raleigh, North Carolina.
The tour program features economic forums, meetings between the two sides, as well as bilateral meetings between Qatari businessmen and their American counterparts on the fields of real estate, hospitality, tourism, hotels, technology, health, pharmaceuticals, banking, law, public-private partnerships and infrastructure projects.
