Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud co-chaired the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday.
At the outset of the meeting, HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation in Riyadh. He highlighted that the brotherly relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia are strong and historic.
His Royal Highness praised the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council's role in supporting and strengthening bilateral relations, affirming that Saudi Arabia is committed to advancing them for the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
For his part, HH the Amir thanked HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia for the warm welcome and magnanimous hospitality, affirming that he was glad to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the framework of the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.
His Highness further pointed out that the agreements signed by the two countries during this visit reflect the level of partnership and the tremendous cooperation between them, emphasizing that the State of Qatar is committed to reinforcing its fraternal cooperation with Saudi Arabia for the ambitions of the two brotherly peoples in support of security, peace, and prosperity in the region.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the brotherly relations between the two sisterly countries and aspects of cementing them in a variety of partnership areas, particularly in the priority fields, including political, security, military, energy, industry, economy, investment, trade, technology, infrastructure, culture, tourism, and education, in addition to reviewing the latest developments on issues of mutual interest to the two countries on the regional and global stages.
HH the Amir and HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia witnessed the exchange of the high-speed electric rail link agreement between the governments of the two countries.
They also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Invest Qatar and the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aimed at heralding them toward offering innovative solutions in the field of direct investment promotion, and the exchange of an MoU in the field of food security between the Ministry of Municipality in the State of Qatar and the General Authority for Food Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, Minister of Transport HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, alongside a lineup of Their Excellencies the Ministers and members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.
From the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Minister of Energy HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Minister of State and Cabinet Member HRH Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Minister of Interior HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif Al Saud; Minister of Foreign Affairs HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud; Minister of Culture HH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud; Minister of State, Cabinet Member, and National Security Advisor HE Dr. Musaad bin Mohammed Al Aiban; Minister of Commerce HE Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi; Minister of Finance HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jadaan; Minister of Investment HE Eng. Thereafter, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud signed the minutes of the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.
HH the Amir and HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia had previously held a bilateral meeting ahead of the meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council and discussed a range of issues and subjects of shared interest.
HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia held a luncheon banquet in honor of HH the Amir and his accompanying delegation.
