Doha, Qatar: Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri held separate meetings with several labour ministers and senior officials participating in the Second Doha Dialogue on Labour Mobility, which was held in the United Republic of Tanzania.
The Dialogue was held under the theme “From Commitment to Action: Advancing Fair and Sustainable Labour Mobility between Africa and GCC+”, with the participation of representatives from more than 33 GCC, African and Arab countries.
On the sidelines of the Dialogue, Dr. Al Marri held separate meetings with H E Deus Clement Sangu, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office for Labour, Employment and Relations of the United Republic of Tanzania; H E Ferdinand Massamba Wa Massamba, Minister of Employment and Labour of the Democratic Republic of the Congo; H E Umaru Napoleon Koroma, Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Sierra Leone; and H E Yonis Ali Guedi, Minister of Labour, Formalisation and Social Protection of the Republic of Djibouti.
His bilateral engagements also included meetings with H E Professor Salim Alio Ibro, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia; H E Dr. Mohammad Haidar, Minister of Labour of the Republic of Lebanon; H E Dr. Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; H E Abdoulaye Mbodou Mbami, Minister of Public Service and Social Dialogue of the Republic of Chad; H E Tseliso Mokhosi, Minister of Labour and Employment of the Kingdom of Lesotho; H E Mamadou Lamine Diante, Minister of Civil Service, Labour and Public Service Reform of the Republic of Senegal; H E Ivete Ângela dos Anjos Ferrão Alane, Minister of Labour, Gender and Social Action of the Republic of Mozambique; and H E Major General Pius Mokgware, Minister of Labour and Home Affairs of the Republic of Botswana.
The meetings focused on bilateral co-operation in labour-sector matters, ways to further strengthen and advance these relations, and key issues addressed during the Second Doha Dialogue on Labour Mobility, held in Dar es Salaam on October 5-6.
