DOHA: Qatar Chamber (QC) participated in the 45th meeting of the Executive Leadership Committee of the Federation of GCC Chambers held in Muscat, Oman. The event was hosted the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The QC delegation included the legal researcher in the chamber, Hamad Ali Al Marri and the economist Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim.
The agenda of the meeting included discussing the interim objectives and the general strategy of the Union, studying the bylaws and regulations of the Federation of the GCC Chambers, proposed amendments to the statute of the Union, proposed amendments to the rules of procedure of the Union, proposed amendments to the financial policies and accounting regulations of the Union, and the restructuring of the General Secretariat Federation of GCC Chambers.
During the meeting, the Qatar Chamber expressed its views on the issues and its readiness to cooperate with the Secretariat of the Union and the member states’ chambers in providing all forms of Gulf support and cooperation to serve the private sector and achieve sustainable Gulf economic citizenship.
Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Director General of the Qatar Chamber, said that the Chamber expressed its readiness to host the next meeting of the Executive Leadership Committee of the GCC Chambers. He said the Qatar Chamber is keen to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the Gulf Chambers in order to enhance economic integration.
Al Sharqi said in a press statement that the Executive Leadership Committee of the Federation of Gulf Chambers held its regular meetings starting from the main tasks of the Committee, which included activating the role of the Committee in the work program of the General Secretariat of the Union, preparing topics to be presented to the Federation Council, follow-up decisions of the Federation Council in coordination with the Secretary General, Approving the annual work program of the Union, recommending the draft budget of the Federation Council, and recommending the final accounts of the Federation Council.
The Executive Leadership Committee of the Federation of GCC Chambers consists of secretaries, general directors and executive heads of federations and member chambers.
