Qatar Athletics Federation President Muhammad Issa Al Fadala celebrates with national team athletes and officials during the 2022 West Asian U-22 Athletics Championships in Lebanon, yesterday.
Team Qatar signed off with a total of 19 medals including eight gold medals, six silver and five bronze medals to finish second behind Syria.
On the final day of the event, Qatar’s 4X400m relay team of Abdulmajeed Zakaria, Abdulrahma Muhammed, Muhammed Noah and Ismail Daoud claimed the gold medal. Abdulmajeed Zakaria also took the silver medal in the 200m final. Moreover, Layal Ibrahim finished second in girls heptathlon and Samar Mansour won the bronze medal in the girls triple jump.
