Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), in collaboration with the Academic Bridge Program (ABP), a member of Qatar Foundation, has announced a new initiative that will enable graduates of the Arts track in government secondary schools to pursue scientific majors at higher education institutions.

Students will be eligible after meeting admission requirements and successfully completing the Academic Bridge Program’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) pathway, in accordance with the approved mechanism.

The initiative was unveiled during a press conference organized by the Higher Education Affairs Sector at the Ministry’s headquarters. It forms part of the Ministry’s efforts to expand academic opportunities for students and enhance their readiness for future-oriented disciplines that align with the needs of the national labor market and sustainable development goals.

Under the initiative, Arts-track students will have access to an approved academic pathway that prepares them to transition into scientific disciplines through enrollment in the Academic Bridge Program’s STEM track. The program provides comprehensive academic preparation based on international standards and equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in university studies.

The program focuses on developing academic English language proficiency and strengthening competencies in mathematics and core sciences, including biology, chemistry, and physics, in addition to computer and programming skills, which are essential requirements for admission to scientific majors.
