Doha: HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

Following the meeting, HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti issued the following statement:

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet underscored the State of Qatar's condemnation and denunciation of the remarks made by an official in the ruling party in India against Prophet Mohammed (may blessings and peace be upon him), which constitute a grave insult to Islam, a violation of its sanctities, a provocation to the feelings of Muslims all over the world, and completely contradict the values of tolerance, coexistence, and civilized behavior.

The Cabinet, while expressing its categorical rejection of these irresponsible remarks that ignore the reality of Islam and its major constants, calls on everyone to focus on bringing people together, strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between countries, and respecting all religions, and to stay away from everything that would incite hatred, inflame feelings of hostility, and sow discord among the peoples.

The Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First - The Cabinet approved a draft law amending some provisions of Decree-Law No. 17 of 2010 organizing the National Human Rights Committee, and referring it to the Shura Council.

Second - The Cabinet approved a draft Amiri decision establishing and organizing the Police Academy.

The preparation of this draft decision comes within the framework of the establishment of an integrated academic structure represented by the Police Academy, which is concerned with developing higher police education and research studies on legal and security sciences and related disciplines, preparing qualified competencies to meet national needs in the security fields, and raising competencies and job skills.

The draft included the objectives of the Academy, its management system, its affiliated colleges and institutes, the academic degrees awarded by the Academy, and other provisions related to the Academy's work.

Third - The Cabinet approved a draft multilateral technical memorandum of understanding between the authorities to investigate aircraft accidents and incidents for member states in the Middle East and North Africa under the framework of the regional cooperation mechanism.

Fourth - The Cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions:
1- A draft law on the issuance of the Judicial Authority Law.
2- A draft law on the issuance of the Public Prosecution Law.
3- A draft law on limiting the use of cash in transactions.
