Engineers and technicians working on the Gulf Laboratories Co’s new jack-up drilling platform—Ammonite.
DOHA: Gulf Laboratories Co, a local geotechnical and material testing laboratory, has recently added a new jack-up drilling platform—Ammonite— to its fleet of nearshore drilling equipment.
“The addition of this larger jack-up, together with our existing jack-up “Nautilus” now allows us to carry out geotechnical drilling works from the inter-tidal area out to water depths of 20 metres”, said General Manager Andrew Slate.
Gulf Laboratories have carried out numerous nearshore geotechnical investigations in Qatar, including works for the Hamad International Airport and Hamad Port as well as other port, harbour and marine reclamation and development schemes.
Fabricated in Qatar, the fully registered vessel is available for nearshore ground investigation projects or for charter as a work barge.
