PARIS: Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah, President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF), yesterday hailed the massive support from the country’s leadership to Qatar’s equestrian sport.

He emphasised that such support led to the huge successes realised in this field and expressed his hope that such success would continue.

Following the conclusion of the first day of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend at ParisLongchamp Al Attiyah said: ‘No doubt, the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani and His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday is a demonstration of the commitment to provide support and stress the value of this prestigious racing event and the role played by Qatar through the sponsorship over several years now, which helped promote the event as acknowledged by everyone.”

He added:  “The ParisLongchamp has seen a great development and looked ideal after the renovations made and the huge development in all facilities. This has been, for sure, due to the partnership between Qatar and France Galop as well as the keenness of the French side to invest this partnership in a way that is in their favour in terms of of both organisation and facilities. ParisLongchamp has become a world-class racecourse in the full sense of the word. We are happy with this development.”
