Doha: The Local Organising Committee for CAF Super Cup 2019, yesterday announced details of the upcoming match between Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Morocco’s Raja Casablanca, which will take place in Doha on March 29.
The committee made the announcement during a press conference that was held at the headquarters of Qatar Football Association (QFA).
Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and QFA Head of Media, Ali Al Salat attended the press conference, unveiling details of the highly-anticipated match.
The Local Organising Committee said that the tickets will be available from tomorrow.
Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the QFA website. Thani bin Jassim Stadium in Al Gharaffa club will be the venue for the match, which will start at 7pm local time.
The President of QFA, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and President of the Confederation of African Football, Ahmad Ahmad had signed an agreement that would see Doha host the match.
The LOC expressed its delight at hosting the event, as part of implementing a cooperation agreement with the Confederation of African Football.
They highlighted that Esperance and Raja Casablanca have a huge fan base in Qatar.
March 15 will see tickets available also in kiosks located in various malls and Qatar sports clubs.
The CAF Super Cup is an annual African association football competition contested between the winners of the Total CAF Champions League and the Total CAF Confederation Cup. The competition was first held in 1993 and is organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). It is the continental equivalent of the UEFA Super Cup in European and Recopa Sudamericana in South American club football.
