Huge amount of inedible olives seized from unlicensed warehouse

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Al Rayyan Municipality, seized and destroyed a huge number of olives found in an unlicensed warehouse in Southern Muaither area. 

The seized items include various packages of green and black olives, which were packed in 30 barrels of 200 kg capacity and 105 barrels of 8 kg capacity. The total quantity of the seized olives was 6,840 kg. 

During the inspection, the Ministry stated that the olives contain mold and were unfit for human consumption. The necessary legal measures were taken in this regard. The Ministry also stated that these efforts come as part of the continuous follow-up by regulatory agencies on food sale, trading, and storage places, in order to ensure the health and safety of consumers.
