The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) held its 34th General Assembly yesterday with attendance of its President H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, alongside the Vice-President Dr Thani Al Kuwari and Secretary-General Jassim Rashid Al Buenain, Presidents of National Federations, and Chairpersons of the committees affiliated to the QOC.
H E Sheikh Joaan thanked the National Federations for their efforts over the past year and he encouraged them to continue supporting Team Qatar in achieving the best results and in their preparations for Tokyo 2020.
The meeting began with approving the minutes of the previous general assembly meeting held in October 2017 and discussed a number of topics tabled on the agenda. The General Assembly also reviewed the results of the Qatari teams in the 18th Asian Games held in Indonesia and 3rd Youth Olympic Games held in Argentina as well as the Qatari teams’ preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan.
