Doha: Emirati motocross star Mohammed Al Balooshi yesterday clinched his second win in the 2021 Qatar Off Road Championship to extend his lead at the top of the points table in Sealine.

In the third round of the Championship, the multiple Arab motocross champion who is also the first rider from the GCC region to win the FIM Bajas World Cup title, yesterday completed 12 laps around a 7 kilometre loop in 01 hour 10:05.2  secs to raise his points to 58 in the 450cc class.

His compatriot and MX Ride Dubai team-mate Khalid Al Falasi finished 13.890 secs adrift as Kuwait's Abdullah Al Shatti came third at 14.618.

In the over 450cc category, South Africa's Jaco Anderson emerged quickest despite being handed a one minute penalty. He completed 10 laps along the same route in 1 hour 13:06.8 secs. Team Extreme Enduro's Qatari rider Sheikh Mohamed Al Thani rode his Husqvarna won the second place as his team-mate and compatriot Abdulrahman Al Sheeb booked the remaining podium spot.

Meanwhile, in four-wheelers, Belgian Emeil Stuckens won the Squads category, ahead of Qatari riders Dawod Al Sharshani and Hussain Al Sharshani who finished second and third respectively.

In Auto Class 3, Qatari driver Ahmed Allouh also made it two wins in three appearances.

Driving a CANAM X3, Allouh topped the field after completing 11 laps in 1 hour 08:03.671 secs. Allouh also recorded the fastest lap of the day in 5 minutes 56.980 secs. Popular Qatari rally driver Abdullah Al Khulaifi came second in his Yamaha YXZ 1000R while Kuwaiti driver Abdulaziz Al Bshayer finished third in his BRP Canam X3 XRS. Allouh is now at the top of the championship standings with 64 after three rounds while Al Khelaifi is second with 56 points from his three podium finished. 

In Class 2, Qatar's Ahmed Al Muhannadi and Ahmed Al Kuwari came first and second respectively.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Al Rabban won Class 4 event ahead of compatriot Rashid Al Muhannadi.

The six-leg Championship is conducted by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF).
