Doha: The Qatar Chamber (QC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) will organise a series of workshops via video conference for the private sector to raise awareness on labour issues and the services offered by the Ministry related to labour.

This was agreed by the coordinating committee between the Chamber and MADLSA which decided to hold regular webinars for the private sector. The webinars will be dedicated for Qatari businessmen, owners and directors of companies as well as companies’ representatives.

The move comes as part of the concern of both sides to enhance ongoing contact with business sectors and inform businessmen and director of companies on the services offered by the Ministry, as well as all issues related to labour and other issues that are of high interest to businessmen.

The workshops will see discussions between businessmen and officials of the Ministry and listening to their views and proposals in a way that benefits all parties. The first webinar is scheduled to be held on October 7 (tomorrow). The MADLSA and QC have recently signed a cooperation agreement to foster their cooperation in labour reemployment, as part of their support for commercial companies and the business sector in Qatar.

The agreement was signed by QC’s General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi and Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs at MADLSA Mohamed Hassan Al Obaidli at the Ministry’s headquarter.

The agreement includes support for the QC’s electronic platform for labour reemployment which was launched in coordination with the Ministry in July with the aim to facilitate the re-employment of skilled workers in the local market.
