DOHA: Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani launched yesterday the first phase of water pumping in the strategic mega reservoirs project in Al Thumama.
The Deputy Amir took a tour in the pumping station and received a briefing on the operating mechanism and the modern techniques used in the project, QNA reported. The Deputy Amir was accompanied by Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials.
The Deputy Amir also checked the progress of the Doha Metro project. During the visit, Deputy Amir was briefed on the latest developments of the project and its facilities, in addition to listening to a detailed presentation on the operation mechanisms and the technical capabilities of the station.
Deputy Amir also visited the Ras Abu Fontas station to stand on the latest developments there. He also checked on the main maintenance center of the Abu Fontas area, as well as the main control units of the metro. Deputy Amir also checked the Pedestrian bridges related to the project.
He was accompanied on the visit by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister and a number of their excellencies the ministers and ranking officials of Qatar Rail.
