The Qatari delegation is expected to be among the largest business delegations to attend the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2021 in Russia in June, the Qatari Media Relations Office at the SPIEF has said, reiterating Qatar’s commitment to expanding the bilateral economic ties with the Russian Federation and expanding them to new horizons.
The delegation includes more than 50 Qatari organisations with businessmen, highranking officials and political figures, heads of authorities and civil society organisations.
Qatar has been named as the guest country for the event. Within the framework of the SPIEF business programme, discussions will be held on the industrial, economic, investment, technological, educational, cultural and sports potential of the State of Qatar.
“Such a large-scale representation of the State of Qatar at SPIEF 2021 is the best proof of the vast prospects for cooperation between Qatar and Russia and the desire of the parties to deepen and expand relations,” said H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Thani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation.
He added: “We are confident that our collaboration through this important forum will be productive. We look forward to forging new partnerships and expanding the trade and economic ties. Being a guest country contributes to this very well.”
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) exhibition programme will be enhanced by the Qatar Pavilion, which will be represented by multiple Qatari entities and will also host bilateral meetings, debates, and round tables on Qatar's bilateral engagement with Russia and other countries.
An extensive programme of Qatari cultural events has also been prepared, and will be held within the framework of the Forum at various venues around St. Petersburg. Residents and guests of St. Petersburg may also attend the events of this cultural programme.
