QSE's main index closes at 9,309.39 points

DOHA:  Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 180.75 points, or 1.90 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,309.39 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 17.50 percent to reach QR1.47bn compared to QR1.25bn at the end of previous week.

Trading volume increased by 18.72 percent to reach 461.96 million shares, as against 389.11 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 11.96 percent, to reach 32,397 transactions as compared to 36,799 transactions.

Market cap fell by 1.08 percent to reach QR520.30bn as compared to QR525.97bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 43.17 percent of the total traded value. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 21.35 percent. Industries sector accounted for 14.40 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 7.99 percent. Real Estate sector led traded volume last week with 27.65 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 22.76 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 18.15 percent and Industries sector accounted 17.84 percent.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 30.86 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 20.03 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 15.85 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 13.86 percent.

From the 47 listed companies 18 companies ended last week higher, while 28 fell and shares of one company remained unchanged.

QNB led trading value during last week accounted for 19.41 percent of the total traded value. Qatar Fuel accounted for 17.91 percent and Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 8.48 percent.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 62.84 points, or 0.68 percent yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.

The volume of shares traded increased to 115.30 million yesterday from 86.93 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR451.94m from QR253.78m on Wednesday.

Indices of five sectors ended in green zone and two sectors in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index gained 0.81 percent to 17,456.71 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 0.27 percent to 3,428.50 points and QSE All Share Index added 0.95 percent to 2,843.11 points.
