Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) distributed school supplies to hundreds of orphans in Pakistans Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, aiming to meet the educational needs of the orphans and lessen the economic burden on their families.
As many as 365 orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Mansehra district received the school supplies that include school bags, stationery items, shoes and school uniforms.
The Advisor to Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Syed Ahmad Hussain Shah highly appreciated the support of benefactors in Qatar, especially for the orphans in the Mansehra district, stating that Qatar Charity has been sponsoring orphans for decades in Pakistan.
He also added that as education is the most important factor to the development of any country, Pakistan's education sector needs more attention from NGOs like Qatar Charity, which has been supporting underprivileged families in Pakistan, especially for their childrens better education.
For his part, Director of Qatar Charity's Pakistan Office Ameen Abdulrahman said that social protection is among Qatar Charity's top priorities to help the vulnerable lead a dignified life.
He also indicated that Qatar Charity has commenced its humanitarian journey in Pakistan in 1992 by implementing projects for orphans, and currently, it extends health, social and educational support to more than 10,000 orphans in the country, including those in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Qatar Charity, through its Rafaqa initiative, provides inclusive care to more than 180,000 children and orphans in different regions of the world, and implements various social, educational, and cultural projects for them, aiming to provide a dignified life for them.
