• There were complaints about some bad habits and practices associated with Eid celebrations. People said many youth tried to express happiness through stunts in neighbourhoods and reckless driving with no respect for others or without caring about safety and security of those moving from house to house during Eid, majority of them children. They said such practices are alien to society and must be prevented.
• There was demand that authorities punish people violating who leave their vehicles near roundabouts for sale. Many said these people leave vehicles for a long time, causing problem for other motorists and should be fined and forced to remove them.
• Authorities were urged to find solution to the problem of long queues at vehicles technical checkpoints by opening more centres and deploying more staff.
• People expressed surprise that there are no Qatari or Arabic-speaking staff at public relations or terminals at Hamad International Airport and said Qataris are only found in the passports and customs sections.
• There was suggestion to set up a government company for Haj and Umrah instead of the current system of operators under the Haj and Umrah Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
• Many people praised the initiative taken by a shopping centre in Al Khor to provide free food to those who do not have cash to buy or are unemployed. The centre has put refrigerators with shelves stuffed with food, with a notice atop: ‘Take free if you are needy and you do not have ability to pay’.
• Some people demanded that authorities provide ATMs on the Corniche saying people are suffering because of lack of ATMs along the Corniche Road and find it difficult to meet their needs at nearest cafes or food outlets without cash.
