Doha: The total number of registered new vehicles during May this year has reached 4695 new vehicles showing an annual increase of 150 percent compared to same month last year, according to the 89th issue of Qatar; Monthly Statistics bulletin released by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA), yesterday.
One of the most prominent changes in this issue is the increase in total cash issued at a monthly rate of 1.5 percent compared to April 2021, offset by an increase in total deposits and credit facilities of commercial banks by 2 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively (compared to April 2021). The total deposits and credit facilities of commercial banks increased at an annual rate of 11.3 percent and 13.6 percent, respectively (compared to May 2020).
Value of sold properties increased by 34.3 percent in May 2021 compared to April 2021; with annual increase of 254 percent (Compared to May 2020).
The Consumer Price Index, as the overall household consumption sub-index increased by 0.83 percent compared to April 2021. The largest increase was in Entertainment & Culture category with 10.97 percent, reaching 82.6 during May 2021.
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 348 permits during May 2021, recording a monthly decrease of 30.4 percent and an annual rise of 28.4 percent.
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 511 traffic cases were recorded during May 2021, showing a monthly increase of 1.2 percent and an annual increase by 53.9 percent. Light injuries are accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 91 percent, followed by severe injuries by 7 percent. However, 9 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2 percent of total traffic accidents cases.
As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR612.1bn during May 2021, an annual increase of 4.9 percent compared with May 2020.
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 1940 live births have been registered during May 2021. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 6.0 percent compared to last month. On the other hand, 273 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 30.9 percent compared to April 2021.
Moreover, May 2021 has experienced a monthly decrease by 9.1 percent and 34.9 percent respectively in marriage contracts and divorce certificates.
The total number of marriage contracts was 311 contracts, whereas the total No. of divorces has reached 97 divorce cases.
As for the Social Security statements, reached QR81m in May 2021, for 14710 beneficiaries, recording a monthly decrease of 0.2 percent for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.4 percent for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
Total electricity consumption during May 2021 was 4547.5 GWh attaining a monthly increase of 29.3 percent and an annual increase of 14.3 percent. While the total water consumption has reached 57471.9 Thousand m3 during the same month attaining a monthly increase of 6.6 percent and an annual decrease of 1.0 percent.
