3,700 more cruise tourists arrive in Doha

DOHA: Doha Port yesterday received one of the largest cruise ships, MSC Splendida, with over 3,700 passengers and 1,314 crew onboard.
Doha port has recorded the largest number of cruise tourists arrival per ship till date through MSC Splendida, said Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani) yesterday on its Twitter account.
The arrival of MSC Splendida is another landmark for cruise tourism Mwani added.
On Wednesday, the port received around 3,743 tourists onboard TUI Mein Schiff-5 calling the port for the fourth time in the ongoing 2017-2018 cruise season, said the company.
Meanwhile, the company pointed out that Al Ruwias port – Qatar’s northern gateway to trade— is getting busier with increased export and import of vehicles, food products, consumer cargo and building materials which fulfill the growing demands of local and regional markets.
