Rome: Italians began voting on Sunday in a constitutional referendum on which reformist Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has staked his future.

Polling stations opened at 7am (0600 GMT) and are scheduled to close at 11pm for some 46 million eligible voters. Voting by postal ballots for around four million Italians overseas closed on Thursday.
