The 16th edition of ‘The Back 2 Business’ networking’, scheduled to be held at JW Marriot Marquis City Centre on November 6, will bring together 400 market experts and 10 key business associations.

Organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce, AHK German Industry and Commerce Office, the event is supported by QBA, the American, French and Spanish Chambers of commerce, as well as the Turkish, Canadian, Australian business councils and the Swedish community in Qatar.

Back 2 Business is a great platform which allows connecting with high profile members of the international business community, Palma Libotte from the Italian Chamber of Commerce said, while addressing the media yesterday.

“ To encourage communication between the participants we give everyone a coloured badge according to their business sector. This event has been very successful for the past 16 years,” she said.

With Qatar’s fast development, every occasion to gain insights on the market from professionals is relevant and platforms such as the Back 2 Business are appreciated for this reason, Palma Libotte added.

The media partner of the Back 2 Business is Marhaba. This year organisers have also a podcast network partner, Ginger Camel, to support the event. “Ticket sales are going very well we have only 100 tickets still available for online sale through Q tickets”, Palma Libotte said.

Qatar Airways is the airline partner and Qatar Green Building Council is our sustainable partner.

The organisers are expecting almost 400 professionals from various business sectors. The attendees are local and international industry leaders, corporate executives, decision makers and diplomats.

Carlotta Colli Deputy head of mission Italian embassy stated: “The Embassy of Italy is pleased to see that Back 2 Business-Networking format has established itself over the years as a well-attended platform for connecting businessmen and help turning business ideas into partnership”.

She added “The reforms adopted by the State of Qatar and the perspective of the World Cup are untapping a great potential for trade and investment in many sectors including agro-food, tourism & hospitality, waste management, logistics, digitalisation and cybersecurity. ‘The Back 2 Business’ event offers the occasion to network with local and international partners and explore these opportunities” Kathrin Lemke, Manager of AHK said:

“In the past two years, the Qatari government has undertaken enormous efforts to improve the investment climate and infrastructure for foreign investors which also German companies can now benefit from and have an easier access to the market.” As part of the national diversification strategy, new sectors are evolving and have presented new business opportunities for international companies.

“Especially now, only 2 and a half years away from the FIFA world cup, is the right time to have a footprint in the country and our office is here to support the German business community with that. Events like the Back 2 Business offer a great networking platform for both, already well established companies as well as newcomers.”

Yigit Yeltepe, Vice President of the Turkish Businessmen Association and Jay Turk, Second Vice Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce also addressed the media.
