Doha: Al Sadd remained on top of the points table ahead of Al Duhail on goal difference as both teams were tied on 10 points following their victories during the fourth round of the QNB Stars League on Sunday.
A brilliant brace by Akram Afif and goals from Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah and Boualem Khoukhi secured hosts Al Sadd a convincing 4-0 win over Al Shahania on Sunday while Al Duhail staged a brilliant fightback from two goals down to prevent a Qatar SC coup to a 3-2 win.
Al Sadd’s Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah continued to be the QNB Stars League’s top scorer with 11 goals, while team-mate Akram Afif increased his tally to six following his brace against Al Shahania. Boualem Khoukhi was The Wolves’ other scorer.
Al Sailiya, occupy the third spot following a 2-1 victory over Al Khor while Al Arabi are placed one spot below them, depending on the goal difference.
Sheikh Jassim Cup winners Al Rayyan are placed fifth with eight points after two draws and same number of wins.
Al Gharafa and Umm Salal are placed sixth and seventh respectively while Al Shahania and Qatar SC occupy the eighth and ninth positions in that order, followed by Al Ahli, Al Khor and Al Kharaitiyat.
