DOHA: The Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre, affiliated with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, concluded its Arabic language teaching skills development course.

The course targeted 15 Arabic language teachers from religious schools in the Republic of Tatarstan – Russian Federation.

The closing ceremony was held at the Centre’s headquarters, under the patronage of Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs HE Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem, and in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Khalid bin Shaheen Al Ghanem, along with several ministry officials and department directors.

The course ran for an entire month, from July 6 to August 3, 2025, and aimed to qualify teachers and develop their linguistic, pedagogical, and religious capacities, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to promote the Arabic language and enhance Islamic culture among Muslim communities around the world.

The ceremony opened with a melodious recitation by one of the participating teachers, followed by a speech on behalf of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Centre, delivered by Sultan bin Saad Al Badr, Assistant Director of the Centre, representing Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Marri, the Centre’s Director.

Al Badr said that the programme went beyond academic training, incorporating cultural visits, awareness sessions, and scholarly gatherings with a selection of esteemed scholars, along with field tours to Qatar’s Islamic and heritage landmarks.

These experiences deepened participants’ understanding of Islamic culture and broadened their cultural awareness.

The ceremony featured a video presentation showcasing the programme’s content and highlights of interaction both inside and outside the classroom.

One of the participating teachers delivered a speech on behalf of his colleagues, expressing their deep gratitude to the State of Qatar—both its leadership and people—for hosting this rich educational and cultural experience.

He praised the warm hospitality and exceptional care provided by all those involved in organizing the course.

He said, “This was an unforgettable experience, combining beneficial knowledge with human connection. It opened new horizons for us to become ambassadors of the Arabic language and Islamic sciences in our homeland.”

The event concluded with Khalid bin Shaheen Al Ghanem, and Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Marri honouring the teachers and distributing certificates in a celebratory atmosphere that reflected the deep cultural and religious ties between Qatar and the Republic of Tatarstan.

This course is part of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre’s efforts to enhance the presence of the Arabic language in educational circles worldwide and to offer high-quality training programs that contribute to building teacher capacities and expanding the positive influence of Islamic culture in Muslim communities.
