Doha: Bangladesh Ambassador H E Md. Jashim Uddin had a meeting yesterday with the First Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber Mohamed Bin Ahmed Twar Al Kuwari. Highlighting the investment opportunities in Bangladesh, the Ambassador informed the Vice-Chairman that Bangladesh attaches great importance in strengthening the trade and investment ties with Qatar.
The Ambassador said that the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Qatar surpassed $1bn mark. However, there are huge potential to strengthen cooperation particularly in the area of investment, he added. The meeting underlined the need for regular interactions between the businessmen and investors of the two countries.
The Ambassador of Bangladesh emphasized the need for organizing specific sector-based talks to highlight business and investment prospects. Mohamed Bin Ahmed Twar Al Kuwari assured the Ambassador of all cooperation in this regard.
The meeting also discussed various issues of Bangladeshi businessmen and investors in Qatar.
Embassy Counselor (Political and Economic Affairs) Md. Mahbur Rahman was present at the meeting.
