QSE’s benchmark index closes at 10,350.35 points

Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 62.65 points, or 0.61 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,350.35 points.

Trading value during last week decreased by 28.45 percent to reach QR663,30m  compared to QR926.99m.

Trading volume decreased by 44.83 percent to reach 30.03 million shares, as against 54.44 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 31.43 percent, to reach 22,355 transactions as compared to 32,603 transactions.

Market cap rose by 0.55 percent to reach QR591.15bn as compared to QR587.91bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.

Industries sector led traded value last week with 38.6 percent of the total traded value. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 29.39 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 14.45 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 6.42 percent.

Industries sector led traded volume last week with 51.5 percent of the total traded volume. 

Real Estate sector accounted for 19.27 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 14.74 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 6.94 percent.

From the 46 companies 27 ended last week higher, while 17 fell and two remained unchanged.

Qatar Aluminum led traded value last week with 20.87 percent of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 14.21 percent and United Development accounted for 9.54 percent. 

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 70.01 points, or 0.68 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
