Doha: Al Rayyan yesterday defeated Al Shamal 4-2 in Round 3 of the Ooredoo Cup at the Qatar University 4 Stadium.
Both Al Rayyan and Al Shamal were locked 1-1 at half-time, but some sizzling action in the second half saw the former score a big win.
The goal scorers for Al Rayyan were Sekou Oumar (23rd minute), Yohan Boli (54th and 82nd minutes) and Ibrahim Masoud (65th minute).
For Al Shamal, Mohamed El Sayed (25th minute) and Yacine Bammou (47th minute penalty) found the back of the net.
In other Group B match yesterday, Al Arabi edged Al Markhiya 1-0 at the Al Ersal 2 Stadium.
With either side locked goalless for most part of the match, a keen battle ensued and it was a late strike from Omar Al Somah in the 85th minute that sealed the deal for Al Arabi.
Also yesterday in the group, Al Gharafa played out a 1-1 draw with Al Duhail at the Al Egla Stadium 4.
