Doha: Al Sadd's star Akram Afif (pictured) has been ruled out of action for the upcoming period due to an ankle injury sustained while training, the club announced yesterday.
"After a medical examination, the extent of the injury was revealed and the Qatari international will now require 3-4 weeks of treatment and recuperation before rejoining the team for training," a report on Club website said yesterday.
That would mean the AFC Player of the Year will miss few games in the QNB Stars League, including today's Round 19 clash against Al Ahli, which will be played at Al Janoub Stadium.
