Qatar’s Tijan Ahmed and Abdullah Nasim in action during their final Group A match of the West Asia Beach Volleyball Zonal Tour at Aspire Zone, yesterday. Ahmed and Nasim yesterday booked a place in the final of the seven-nation event after defeating their Palestinian counterparts in straight sets (21-10, 21-13) in the semi-final.
The Qatari duo will take on their Omani opponents in the final which will kick off at 3:00pm today. Ahmed - an Olympic bronze winner - and Nasim beat Syria 2-0 (21-16, 21-13) earlier yesterday to top their group (A) with a clean record while Oman also reached the semi-final in similar fashion after occupying the top spot in Group B.
In the semi-final yesterday, Oman outplayed Syria 2-0 (21-10, 21-13). Syria and Palestine will meet in the third place play-off today at 2:00pm.
