QOC Beach Games conclude with huge success

Doha: Team Al Adaam won the men’s beach volleyball title after defeating Al Nojoom in yesterday's final while Al Shahaniya team emerged beach football champions after beating Al Doha yesterday as the inaugural edition of the  Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) beach games came to a conclusion at the Aspire Zone.

Al Odaid team won the men’s handball title in the multi-sport event which saw the participation of over 500 athletes. 

"We were pleased with the wide participation of the teams in the Qatar Olympic Committee Beach Games, which is a community activity that extends from the success of the 2019 ANOC Beach Games," QOC Secretary-General Jassim Rashid Al Buenain, who presented awards to champions yesterday, tweeted.

The athletes competed in four  beach sports, namely football, handball, volleyball and 3x3 basketball, while an exhibition beach rugby event was also held on the final day of the 12-day Gamed.

The event was conducted with the aim of promoting sport activities among the Qatari society, and was supported by a number of local organizations, including Aspire Zone, Vodafone Qatar, Sports Corner and Al Meera.
