Doha: Qatar’s Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah won his maiden Rally of Lebanon title in the 42nd running of the event, driving a VW Polo R5 alongside French co-driver Mathieu Baumel yesterday.
Last year’s runner-up, Al Attiyah was in the lead at the end of first leg and never looked back after that as he secured the win by more than six minutes over second-placed Rodrigue Rahi (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX).
Patrick Njeim (Mitsubishi Evo IX) picked up the final podium spot by finishing third overall in the 10-stage race.
