Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index dropped 233.65 points, or 2.20 percent, last week when the bourse closed trading at 10,397.63 points yesterday.
Trading value last week increased by 13.44 percent to reach QR867.86m compared to QR765.05m.
Trading volume increased by 35.64 percent to reach 342.37m shares, as against 252.40m shares, while the number of transactions rose by 20.89 percent to reach 25,234 transactions as compared to 20,873 transactions, reports QNA. The market cap reached QR573.15bn as compared to QR584.83bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and financial services sector led traded value last week with 49.02 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 20.72 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 7.81 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 7.31 percent.
The Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 38.99 percent of the total traded volume. Industries sector accounted for 23.70 percent. Real Estate sector accounted 19.06 percent and Telecom sector accounted 5.84 percent.
Industries sector led traded number of transactions last week with 32.34 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 31.35 percent. Real Estate sector accounted 10.11 percent and Telecom sector accounted for 8.63 percent.
Of the 46 listed companies 10 ended last week higher, while 35 fell and one unchanged.
QNB led trading value during last week accounted for 24.7 percent of the total trading value. Industries Qatar accounted for 6.25 percent and Qatar Islamic Bank accounted 5.55 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 107.37 points, or 1.02 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 47.49m from 77.11m on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR2.28bn from QR246.72m on Wednesday.
of the 49 companies listed on QSE, shares of 48 saw trading today. From these, 8 companies gained, 29 closed lower, while 11 remaining companies were unchanged.
Indices of all sector ended in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index decreased 1.02 percent to 19,132.52 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index decreased 0.92 percent to 3,992.51 points. QSE All Share Index decreased 0.98 percent to 3,069.20 points.
