Doha: Research and Graduate Studies department of Qatar University has released the 15th issue of the Qatar University Research Magazine which documents the progress and achievements of Qatar University (QU).
The magazine covers activities and events happened recently in the university and also covers latest research achievements of the University.
“Qatar University continues to focus on excellence as a core value in achieving its basic goals. At a time of growing challenges, the University continues to develop while encouraging and facilitating innovation and creativity,” Prof Mariam Al-Maadeed, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at QU said in the editorial of the magazine.
“It is my pleasure to announce the registration of QU Young Scientists Center (QUYSC) to the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) the global platform for invention and innovation. As well as the launch of the frst QU research podcast on the SoundCloud platform,” she added.
The magazine covers research achievements, news, events, students’ articles, research articles and more.
This issue also highlights a discussion with Prof. Siham Al-Qaradawi, Professor of Organic Chemistry, about the frst patent registered at Qatar University, and Prof. Kaltham Al-Ghanim, Director of the Social and Economic Survey Research Institute.
It also includes a study on “Culture a Tool for Projecting Soft Power: Hosting of FIFA World Cup as a Model,” and QU researchers are studying this event and its impact on the Qatari society.
The magazine also contains an Interview with Prof. Mohammed Harb Farzat, Author of “Qatar on the Arabian Gulf: A Search for Lost Times in Ancient History”
