Qatar Chamber provides MoPH with 24 business initiatives

Doha: The Qatar Chamber  (QC)Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani (pictured) said that ‘Takatuf Initiative’ launched recently by the Chamber saw a positive response and great welcome from businessmen.

The initiative aimed to urge the private sector to participate in supporting the country’s efforts and precautionary measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.

In press statement issued by the Chamber yesterday, Sheikh Khalifa said that the Chamber is daily coordinating with concerned governmental agencies to benefit from these initiatives, noting that these initiatives come in line with the efforts exerted by the Supreme Committee for Crises Management that aim to protect citizens and residents from the spread of the virus.

The Chamber provided the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) with a batch of 24 initiatives from businessmen received through the electronic form of ‘Takatuf initiative’ as a booster to the Ministry’s efforts to combat Covid-19, the statement said. These initiatives included steps for establishing field hospitals, providing a medical cadre if necessary.

They also included providing drivers, support services, equipment, air conditioners, generators, bread, mineral water of different sizes, masks, gloves as well as delivery of food products and providing fresh local vegetables, meat, eggs and dates.

Businessmen’s initiatives also included providing transportation from and to agencies and warehouses, offering cleaning and hospitality services and providing sterilization services for streets, farms and buildings.

Other initiatives including providing medical equipment and medicine, bed mattresses, volunteers, screens and speakers, printing banners and signs and fixing self-service devices in labor complexes to reduce the spread of the virus.

The Chamber said that it continues is receiving more initiatives from businessmen.
