DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 76.74 points, 0.89 percent, when the bourse closed trading at 8,730.06 points yesterday.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 10.98 million from 14.81 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR248.06m from QR350.72m on Wednesday.
Out of the 45 companies listed on QSE, shares of 39 saw trading yesterday. Of these, 29 companies gained, 10 closed lower.
Indices of one sectors ended in red and six sector ended in green today. QSE Total Return Index gained 0.89 percent to 15,006.32 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 0.85 percent to 3,616.02 points. QSE All Share Index added from 1.00 percent to 2,472.26 points, reports QNA. When compared on weekly basis, the QSE index lost 366.30 points, or 4.03 percent, last week against previous week’s closing.
Trading value during last week increased by 52.30 percent to reach QR1.20bn compared to QR792.68m at the end of the previous week.
Trading volume last week increased by 55.94 percent to reach 51.34 million shares, as against 32.92 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 37.19 percent, to reach 18,506 as compared to 13,489 transactions in the previous week.
Market cap fell by 4.06 percent to reach QR467.57bn as compared to QR487.36bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 33.27 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 22.00 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.45 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 11.29 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 30.3 percent of the total traded volume. Telecoms sector accounted for 24.92 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 19.35 percent and Industries sector accounted for 17.25 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 29.4 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 18.34 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 17.41 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 16.98 percent.
