DOHA: The Gulf Sports Media Federation (GSMF) yesterday announced its events and awards, which will be held on the sidelines of the Arabian Gulf Cup of Nations, which is taking place in Doha until December 8.
President of the Gulf Sports Media Federation, Salem Al Habsi expressed his thanks to the Qatari Sports Media Committee for its support of the federation’s events.
He added that the winners of the awards will be announced on the penultimate day of the competition. Meanwhile, member of the award’s jury Bassem Al Rawas said that there will be five categories for the award. He said that the first category will be for photography and consists of two awards. The first is related to capturing the achievement, while the second is for portraying emotions outside the pitch. Every award will have a gold, silver, and bronze prize.
The second and third categories will be for Op-eds and articles respectively. The fourth award will be for the best commentator and the fifth is for outstanding contribution to sports journalism in the Gulf region.
